A late addition to the schedule. We will be holding a youth open mat tomorrow night from 6:00 to 7:00 PM for anyone interested. Feel free to come and get a little extra practice time in. And you are welcome to stay and help setup for the JV tournament on Saturday after open mat is done.

Due to the lovely weather we are experiencing, youth practice will be moved to Wednesday night this week.
ZM will be hosting the SE MN JV Duals in Mazeppa on Saturday, February 1st. I am looking for volunteers to help with setup on Friday night, Jan. 31st around 7:30 PM. The JV/V wrestles in Chatfield that night so we are looking for the youth parents to help with setup. Friday night was a great night for the ZM Wrestling program and families! A huge thank you to all our volunteers, including our youth and high school parents and our high school wrestlers. None of it is possible without your help and dedication. I saw a lot of smiles that night from the kids.
Congratulations to the varsity for taking 1st in their home tournament on Saturday. Thanks to all who volunteered their time and came out to support the team.

Due to school getting out early, there is no youth open mat tonight.
A reminder that the tournament tomorrow is at the Zumbrota High School. Please arrive no later than 5:30 and check in at the door. Then proceed to skin and fingernail check.
Our home youth tournament is this Friday night at the high school in Zumbrota. If your wrestler is participating (we encourage everyone to do so and entry fee is covered by the club), we need their signed registration form Monday night at practice. You can print off a form here.

As explained in practice last Monday, we are having a friendly competition by charting how many practices and tournaments each kid attends. There is a bulletin board to the immediate right when you enter the wrestling room. Before or after practice the kids can shade in a square for that practice or a tourney they attended over the previous weekend. We will be recognizing the top participants at our end of the year party.
21+ youth wrestled in open tournaments this weekend. In Eyota on Saturday were: Gunner and Tanner Mancilman, Sam and Isaac Moore, Ben and Landon Flaaen, Cain and Ryan Lexvold, Kaleb and Blake Lochner, Ionee and Beau Jurrens, Ben Murray, Nathan Haltom, Jack Haglund, Jack Smothers, Kevin Majerus, Ashtom Macht, Ethan Kovars, and Henry Morgan. Cole Poncelet wrestled in Mankato.

Ryan Lexvold, Cole Poncelet, and Michael Majerus competed in the Badgerland Nationals in La Crosse on Saturday. In addition to wrestling, the boys enjoyed eating at Buffalo Wild Wings and waving to each passing car on the way home.
14 wrestlers found time during the holiday break to participate in the ‘Festivus for the Wrestivus’ tournament in Plainview on Saturday. The boys had an overall record of 22 wins and 13 losses, including 5 that went undefeated. Keep it up guys!

We surpassed our goal and had 21 wrestlers partake in the tournament in Goodhue on Saturday. The boys had an overall record of 31 wins and 21 losses, including 8 that went undefeated. A great job by all! They wrestled hard and were mat side cheering each other on.
