Due to the blizzard warning, the varsity wrestlers ventured to Rochester this afternoon for an overnight stay to ensure they can make it to the Civic Center tomorrow morning. Therefore, there will be no bus to the tournament tomorrow…other wrestlers will have to find their own rides to come cheer on their teammates. Drive carefully, use caution, stay safe!

The Rochester Panther Wrestling Club has extra tickets for this Sunday’s MN vs PSU wrestling match at the U of M, and are wondering if any ZM wrestling families would be interested in attending. They have chartered two buses and have around 20 extra tickets. The price is $10 per ticket with a $30 per family max. That includes entry into the match and transportation on the bus. Match starts at 1:00 PM. Given that Zumbrota is on their way, they are glad to arrange for a Zumbrota pick up at a local off-the-highway location. Or if you prefer to drive separately, it would be fine to just purchase a ticket.

Reminder from Coach Steffen that as of now, wrestling is still ON. Wrestlers, keep your weight in check and be ready to wrestle tomorrow evening! The weather is supposed to warm up a bit in the afternoon, so we are hoping to go on as scheduled.
A big night of wrestling in Mazeppa tomorrow night! The Cougars will face the Lake City Tigers, followed by a college wrestling dual in our own gym! We are hosting RCTC vs. St. Olaf. Come on out to support the Cougars and the Yellowjackets!

Tonight’s open mat for grades 7-12 has been changed to 4:00-5:00 pm. Sorry for the late notice, but with the weather concerns, it is best that the boys not be on the roads after dark. This open mat is NOT mandatory. Drive safely.
ZM will be hosting the Southeast MN JV Duals in Mazeppa on Saturday, February 1st. This is a 12-team tournament, with wrestling beginning @ 9:00.
We are in need of volunteers to help with this tournament! We are looking for help with set-up on Friday night, Jan. 31st, as well as assistance during the tournament (table workers, tappers, concessions, etc.). Please consider donating a few hours of your time to help our tournament run smoothly and benefit our wonderful wrestling program!!! Zumbrota-Mazeppa Wrestling Community Calendars is one of the largest fundraisers for our program. These calendars run March through April and are personalized with birthdays and anniversaries.
