Team LaGosh Named “Team of the Week”

This week the virtual challenge for the youth wrestlers was to perform rounds of exercises to the ‘Bring Sally Up’ song along with stance and motion drills.  Each round took about 5 minutes to complete.

Our “Team of the Week” based on the results is Team LaGosh.  Members are Levi Matthees, Kason Hill, Jonah Karow, Evan Scharpen, Jaxon Riggs, Owen Mehrkens, and Jacoby Brown.  These young men completed 109 rounds between them.  Well done!

Since ZM Youth Wrestling has been unable to hold in-person practices to date, the coaches have designed fun activities the kids can be involved in during the month of December.

This past week we’ve held Zoom training sessions and also created a “Weekly Challenge”. We had 10 teams of 6-7 kids involved.  The challenge included:
1) doing a chore
2) performing rounds of push-ups, sit-up, and jumping lunges
3) spending 30 minutes outside
The round goal varied between teams based on member age.

Our “Team of the Week” based on results is Team Watkins! Members are Patrick Fruth, Gavin Johnson, Jase and Kade McNamara, Caden Lohmann, Jaxon Liffrig, and Jacob Scharpen. These animals combined to complete 272 rounds of push-ups, sit-ups, and jumping lunges. Good job boys!
