The Cougars placed 1st in the 23-team Eau Claire North Husky Invite. ZM finished with 471 points, 69 points ahead of 2nd place PEM (the only other MN team!). ZM had 2 individual champions, Spencer Defrang & Maverick Jackson.

11 Cougar Wrestlers participated in the Turkey Trot 5K this morning. They had to brave some chilly, wet weather but got in a good workout and donated to our local food shelf. Great job, guys!

2015 CALENDAR SALES
Hello Parents-
Our Zumbrota-Mazeppa Wrestling Community Calendar is one of the largest fundraisers for our program. These calendars run March through February and are personalized with birthdays and anniversaries. Each year, 7th- 12th grade wrestlers head out into the community to gather calendar orders. Money raised through calendar sales goes directly to the program to provide things such as lodging & clothing for the team. The goal is for each wrestler to sell at least 10 calendars. Those who reach this goal will have their names entered into a drawing for MN Gopher Wrestling tickets.
On Saturday, November 21st following practice, the wrestlers will take part in a sales blitz. The boys will sell calendars around Zumbrota & Mazeppa from 11:30-1:30 and will be provided with a catered lunch afterward @ the high school. Calendar sales will continue through November 30th, 2015 and delivery will be scheduled in February 2016.
Although Saturday practices are not mandatory for the Junior High wrestlers, their attendance is required on the 21st.

Eight ZM Cougars competed in the 2015 Cliff Keen USA Wrestling Preseason Nationals this past weekend in Cedar Falls, IA. The Cougars had a good showing in a very tough tournament…nice job, guys! Just 3 weeks til the official start of the 2015-2016 season!

The welcome home reception for the wrestlers will be tomorrow morning, Monday, March 2nd, at 8:00 am in the ZMHS Auditorium.
Also, Jeff Matthees would like to remind those wrestling on the 7th-8th grade NYWA team that practice will be Monday, Tuesday, Thursday this week after school till about 5:00. Thank you.
Six Cougars advanced to the Individual State Tournament which will be held next Friday & Saturday, Feb. 27-28 at the Xcel Energy Center. Great job guys!
